THE STORY BEHIND HEADGATE

Good work deserves
a good record.

Headgate began with a rancher's problem: the work happened outside, and the record keeping was waiting back at the house.

IT STARTED IN THE PENS

Build for the place
the work happens.

At the end of a long day, typing up notes is one more job. Details get scattered between a notebook, a phone and what someone remembers.

Headgate started at the chute, with a screen that could keep working without a signal. Record the animal, the weight and the treatment while the work is happening.

The rest grew from the needs around it: a useful animal history, health records, supplies, pasture moves and a clearer view of costs. Different parts of the ranch, connected by the same records.

WHAT GUIDES THE WORK

Built with purpose.
Kept accountable.

01 / FAITH

Care in the work.

Faith shapes the way this work is approached: with care for the people using it and respect for the responsibility they carry.

02 / STEWARDSHIP

A longer view.

The cattle, the land and the resources entrusted to a ranch deserve thoughtful care. Useful records help make that care more deliberate.

03 / EXCELLENCE

Details that hold up.

Show the calculations. Identify missing information. Keep label confirmation visible. Build tools that help ranchers inspect the details behind a result.

Headgate is in early access. Public sign-up is not open yet, and the iPhone build is on TestFlight rather than in the App Store.

If the problems here sound familiar, tell us about your place. Hearing how other ranchers work helps shape what comes next.
